They're a wonderful breed that we fell in love with by accident two years ago with our Shadow. Then 10 months ago, we made an impulsive leap to get our Stella (tri-pawd). It has been quite an adventure as beginners with the breed but very rewarding nonetheless.
Left: Shadow / Right: Stella

I love to skate with Stella.
Great exercise and healthy for a homebody owner.

Do you have or know anyone who has huskies and/or husky-mixes? Any pictures to share? Or even if you don't have a husky! What do you love (or dislike) about the breed?

I used to have one but had to re home her, she was too aggressive with animals. (not humans) she would chase wild geese outside so I could barely take her on a walk

I completely understand! I can't handle Shadow on a walk so my DH or niece walks him. He sees a cat and it's all over from there! Lol but she is soooooo cute!!!!

I am obsessed...

I think Shadow has the cutest face. I call him my "Shadow-bear" because he just reminds me of a cute stuffed animal.

Stella thinks she's the boss of the stairs 🤣

My previous dog was Husky/Akita (maybe some other stuff in there) and she was more husky in personality - did the husky howl, liked being independent, harassed the chickens (of course we never let them mix) and any wildlife she could find, etc. Didn't have the typical husky energy level though since she was a lot bigger (90-95 lbs) and also older at time of adoption.

Wow, she sounds huge! But what a pretty mix, I bet.
I wonder if Shadow is a mix with malamute. He is 70lb, 10lb over and slightly taller than a typical male husky. He is a runner outside but very mellow; doesn't bark, rarely howls, doesn't dig or climb, just one of the most chillest-happy-to-be-next-to-you kind of dog.
Which was why I thought "let's get him a friend, we can do this" but she fits a husky description to the core. If she had all 4 legs, I think we'd be in trouble 🤣

This is my husky / blue heeler mix, Max. You can’t see it, but he has one half blue eye, and one eye with a blue splash in it. I trained him to be around chickens since he was a puppy, and he protects them and chases hawks. He’s great - sheds just like a husky, his undercoat is white 🤣 but god do I love him

He is gorgeous!! Those eyes sound beautiful, I'd love to see a pic! That's great that you trained him, I think that's a plus of starting from a puppy too. What kinds of things did you do?
Our dogs can be around the chickens ONLY IF we are present to closely watch. Shadow is a lot better at ignoring the chickens than Stella but we still have to be on our toes.
