Hutch the Halfie **The Last Chapter on Pg. 18**

I probably won't use him for pulling anything because of his hernia (that's what the vet said it was so, Im going with his belief) I would be fearful it would put too much pressure on him. I think he's perfect as a child's pony because I don't believe a full sized rider would really work either... maybe when he recovers completely. I've scoped him out a couple times and thought about taking him for a test drive but, I'd feel too bad for him. Im 5'9" ..probably 170 lbs.

oh, and his riding instructor said he could use his bike helmet until he gets a riding helmet. I wonder why those pony riding businesses don't require children to wear helmets?

Yay! Wyatt has a helmet!

Now, what are we going to do about Erin's brain damage?

LMAO...I knew there was something wrong with you! See Erin, I can pull out snipets too! And as your friend, I need to point out that it is spelled: CORRAL.

Now, back to the horse. Picture a snowy scene, an evergreen wreath around his neck with a big red bow and a row of bantam cochins lining his back! Christmas Card!

Not trying to put you down, or start a fight, just posting as a FYI. While a bike helmet is better than no helmet, it's designed differently than a riding helmet. It doesn't offer as much protection.

As someone who has had horses all her adult life, this thread is getting a little holy-er than thou attitude thrown in by some so called horse people. Leave the gal alone she will and can figure things out on her own when it comes to safety for her and her family. I'm sure her Vet is quite knowledgeable in horse care. If this had been a chicken post it would have been shut down by now.

Erin I applaud you for taking in Hutch, you go girl. Back in the day when helmets were not even in the big picture of things my little 3 year old had a wonderful old work pony to ride around on and she did just fine!!!! I don't recall anyone having the nerve to tell me what they thought was best for my child.

A kid can fall off a step stool and get brain damage!!

Send me a pic at Christmas with the evergreen wreath and big red bow around his neck!!
