Hypnotizing Chickens

Hmmm, i don't know if it would work well with my chickens. Mine aren't that calm when they're picked up since they're not that tame...

We did it and were suprised how easy it was yet pretty funny. We did the head tuck under wing and swing side to side method and it worked like a charm (youtube video was the instruction).

Chicks and chickens seemed totally relaxed and perfectly happy when they snapped out of it.

So you just hold them on their backs and just rock them gently or just hold them there for a few minutes?

I did it, and I have the picture of a hypnotized Butterscotch on my classroom board.

I usually start out by getting them in my arms and relaxing them a bit and then slowly turn them. Once they are on their backs their feet stick straight out and their heads roll back. I think they are playing dead like if a predator had them in their grip. It's kinda cool when they are like that - you can talk to them and pet them and let them get to know your voice. I start doing it with them when they are chicks, then they love me more when they are older.
