One thing I noticed about cancer patients, they were very laid back about getting their blood drawn and no drama!
Exactly! Once you've worked oncology, you have the whole illness thing in perspective. The worse they are, the less they complain. I've found patients quietly crying with their pillows soaked on either side of their head from the tears and they won't ring their call light and ask for pain meds because they "don't want to bother anyone".
Of course, with some of the nurses I've worked with, it could be that the nurse acted like such a butt each time they had to give the pain meds that this patient had tuned into it and just didn't want to catch any attitude...they have enough problems without dealing with lazy, surly nurses.
