What questions do you have?

With my experience, quail are way easier than chickens.

Very easy to incubate, I always had extremely high hatch rates. And there is a lot of room for error. They hatch very quickly, from the time they first pip until they are dry. Never had splay leg or anything like that.

Very tiny and you have to make sure they are kept at the right temp after they hatch. That was my only issue.

They need a high protein feed. I used "gamebird showbird" from TSC to start mine off, because that is the only thing I had. Expensive for a tiny bag, but they don't eat much, and they did great on it as chicks. Because they are so tiny, with some chick feeds you have to grind the crumbles up even smaller.

They grow like crazy! I haven't raised them in a while, so I can't remember the exact numbers. But it takes no time at all for them to start laying and have their feathers in.

I loved mine! I only had a small flock of 4-6. I hatched some off and just kept a few, I was in middle school so they were just for fun. I kept them in a secure rabbit hutch type set up off the ground. One day I reached in to get the eggs, and grabbed a snake. He had ate all my eggs, and most of my quail. So that was the end of the quail fun for me. I would love to get some more soon though, I really enjoyed them.

I’m using an incubator I used for chickens and it has small holes that I’m afraid button quails will fall through. Could you guys look and tell me if it’s safe for buttons? Thanks

:welcome

I have no quail experience but one of our amazing moderators has, I'll tag her and see if she can pop on here to answer your incubator question: @TwoCrows

In addition to the Quail forum Teila gave you a link to, there are articles about them in the Learning center:other-backyard-fowl-ducks-quail-turkeys-geese-etc.67519 (TwoCrows wrote them).

Hope you get the answers you need. Best of luck to you!
