Kind of along the same lines of the CAM and since I’m nerdy about biology, anatomy, dissection and such, do you know what all does this “after hatch” contain that sustained life for 3 weeks?

Normal gunk leftover. I think it’s the stuff that doesn’t get wrapped in and absorbed by the chick. I see this more when the pointy end of the egg has more clear-ish area, and the veins don’t reach all the way out to the point.

I’ve also seen it said that it’s waste from the chick, like poop, but I’m not so sure about that.

Very interesting. Of course, that is something I didn’t notice when candling, but now that I know I can make a note to just look for stuff like that. Even though it doesn’t amount to a hill of beans, inquiring minds wanna know! Ya know?

Take the dividers out before one gets it's head stuck in that gap?

I used hot glue on the bottom of my mesh dividers....but my Incuview lid also helps keep them in place.

I was just thinking the same thing because the chick did get its head and body on opposite sides of the divider, but it took a nap. I watched to make sure it didn’t get stuck and it pulled its head back through with no problem. (Probably because the divider is so loose.)

Just watching this morning has already set my wheels to turning and will definitely make adjustments to this set up before incubating any more eggs.

Yes, I like to share my joy and good feelings.

Some on here won’t even have a clue who/what Three Dog Night is. But others, well others just might enjoy some reminiscing. Ahh, those were some memorable times.
