Sonja, if you want roosters, you should have had your eggs shipped to me to hatch for you. My rooster/drake hatch rate is known worldwide. It's ridiculous...
I'm pretty good at it myself. At least if I'm hatching to keep instead of sell. I did get lucky with some FBCM last year. I hatched 10 or so eggs and only got two roosters. The rest of the time, I usually get a 3:1 ratio of roosters to hens

Lots of people use a 10:1 water/bleach solution. Just be sure to rinse it out really well after you get finished cleaning it. Some people use baking soda because it leaves no harmful residue. I use Dawn dish soap and water. I figure if they can use Dawn to clean oil slicked birds with, it should be good enough to clean my bator. Plus I have liners in both of my bators which helps a lot. You can also leave it in the sunshine for a few hours and that will help disinfect it too.

Well, I candled my Call eggs again today and, sad news, only 4 are going to make it to the hatcher it looks like.
I have no idea what happened, I lost 11 between the last time I candled and today. I never saw any spikes or dips so I'm clueless.
Oh well, I guess 4 is better than none.
