I almost killed one of my Blessing Ducks!!

Right now I have a Muscovy drake and a Runner drake they each have their own ladies. My Muscovy pay no attention to the Runners females which are 4 Runners and 2 Buffs. My Runner likes them all including the Muscovy’s. Which doesn’t even affect the Muscovy drake. So really does depend on the drakes. If I had 2 Muscovy drakes together it would be all out war.

With "free range" i mean, i have about 5000+ sqft fenced in around the house where they can roam free plus i am using cheap-plastic-fencing to allow them access to additional spots like my ruined potato patch. I can't let them roam completely free, once they discover the creek at the bottom of the hill they would end up in downtown Charleston pretty quickly.

Oh yeah they'd be gone, But wouldn't they just LOVE that creek?! I'm building..ok-my hubby is building, a pond for the ducks-they are going to so love it! Can't wait!

And, when I say free roam I mean a fenced pasture that is about 3 acres. We have pigs in the pasture as well so the chicken/duck area has an electric fence so pigs don't come into their space but they can roam if they want. My ducks can cross over the lines but they really don't roam. I let Duck-Duck (2 Pekin Drakes) free range outside the pasture on 20 acres and they never went further than a hundred feet.

That creek is flowing really fast and is joining another creek, then both are joining an even larger creek, flowing into the Elk-river which then flows into the Kanawha river and there is so much to discover behind every new corner… They'd be in downtown faster than i can drive there - and i can drive fast!
The fence that i have is in most parts just 1m (3ft) high, they can easily flap over this, but they also have understood that they should stay inside where it is safe(r) and all their friends are. Sometime one of them gets out and then panics to get back in.
