I already know its too soon to tell šŸ¤£

Are GLWs meant to have single combs?
Rose comb is dominant. I believe the hatcheries mix in some single combs to their stock to improve fertility. So two birds with the single comb gene can have single combed offspring.

Wyandottes should have rose combs. Best comb type ever.

I personally wouldn't buy a single combed Wyandotte. It defeats the point for me. May as well get some more Orps.

Noooooo. He moved back with his parents. He needed to be with some ladies and I couldn't provide him everything he needed. I hatched him as an egg. He was an indoor rooster for 4 months. I miss him so much. View attachment 2423582View attachment 2423583View attachment 2423584View attachment 2423587
STUNNING!!!!!!!! But you were right. How could anyone keep a handsome dude like that from the expecting ladies???? It is so hard to give them up but I am sure he is living his best rooster life now. Do you get updates?

Awww I do not really care how mine look as long as they are healthy.

Yes, I get updates from my family members, I also go see him when I can.

Here are some updated pictures. They will be 5 weeks on Wednesday. All 3 still have the same amount of waddle development. Not much comb changes. My SLW has a much shorter tail and always seems to be a loaner. Her/his legs seem slightly taller than the others but I don't see any huge difference in thickness between the 3. The tail is the only difference that is really noticeable...which is strange because that one had the longest tail to begin with at 1 week old. šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø
