Have had chickens off an on all of my life; they are just fun to have and Buddy is my pet rooster who likes to sleep in my lap but he and I both are getting up there in age. There are dogs, cats and Gonzo a macaw who runs the show. LOL
What brought me to this site is our introduction to small birds a year and a half ago I made the mistake of telling a friend canaries were something i had always wanted the next week there were 10 canaries on my door and a month later there were 6 finches and a little later there were 12 button quail and last but not least came the diamond doves. As our flock was growing we new something had to be done ( not to mention telling this loving person we could not handle any more). So we hired a contractor to build a aviary and they now have this lovely home to live in and people who know little to nothing about the care of small birds. That is why I decided to check the internet for information and that brought me here.
