Its good. Quiet, but that's a good thing around here..
Had a hen come down from somewhere around dhs shed with 3 chicks in tow this morning and one of the little dogs got too close for her liking and she flogged the bugger.. dog is fine but will deffinetly think twice about approaching a broody with chicks again..

I walked over and scooped up 2 of the chicks and momma just stood there quietly till i set em back down next to her...

Yes she is. But shes an old hand at raising chicks and shes used to me handling her and them.

It reminds me of the Black Australorp hen I had go broody every year. That hen would trust anyone with her chicks...even the cat who had proven to be not a threat could sit near and watch without getting pounced on

Its funny, shes fine with the big dogs and the cats, its just the little yappy dogs she doesn't seem to trust. Guess she knows somethin I dont..
