When we put out old dog down, we did it at the humane society here.

I think it was under $30 and they kept her body.

I've never paid for euthanasia. Been going to the same vet for years. I've also never asked for the body back, or asked what he does with them.

Glad you posted this; I don't think I want to know what another vet who was not the usual caregiver would charge.

My vet does not usually charge to put down small pets.

I do know we have to pay after our loved ones pass on though too so it makes sense.

I'm sorry about the loss of your pet. It's a hard thing to go through.

That said, our vet is one of the most reasonable around here and it costs me about $120 or so for euthanasia and private cremation and return of the ashes. I do it every time, tho. Can't bury them here due to town laws.

$145 seems a bit steep for me to euthanize a pet. Our ferret was an emergency after hours (Saturday night) call, and that was only $45.00. We brought her home and buried her, so that didn't include cremation or anything. Sorry for the loss of Mr. Yackers.

When I had to put Jerry down it cost around $80 just to put him down. No way I would let him be cremated especially with the cremation fiasco going on around here at the time.

Anyway, anything over $50 is sorry.
