I am new chicken raising. I need a lil help please!!!

OK! I got hay in the coop now. An when I let them out in the run, I seen they scratch the ground and bath in the dirt. So I put a 5 gallon bucket of dirt in the run today.

Good luck with your poultry raising adventures, and I hope you find everything you need to know. Don't forget to take a look at BYC's very useful learning center (If you haven't already)!
The learning center as well as the forum should answer your questions! Glad to have you here! Sand would be good!

Welcome to BYC!

Yes, sand is a wonderful medium. You can use play sand, however if it doesn't contain any tiny stones, you will need to offer up grit for the gizzards. You will not need to worry about worming until they are about a year old. It is never advised to worm them unless you see signs of worms....diarrhea, pale combs, tired looking birds, worms in poop. Some people just go ahead and worm once a year as a precaution. I will do this too on occasion if I think they may have worms.

Enjoy your new flock and welcome to ours!
