Yahoo! I've been itching to kill any of our predators. I'm sick of losing precious chickens to those beasts! I put up a wireless security alarm and it works like a charm. Has a light that comes on when the alarm goes off....and it is LOUD. It will wake you up from a dead sleep in the middle of the night from 200 feet away!! By the time we get there, the predator has been scared off by the alarm and the light!!

Opossums aren't real scared of people. Not real odd that it didn't run. It's probably been hanging around people's houses for a while and had become accustomed to them.

That's how the racoons around my place were until I caught them eating my $20/bag dog food... ka-pow-ka-pow-kapow and three were down. Haven't seen the others since...

Back in the spring we aniliated 14 raccoons from the place, got all of my mille fleurs. I was so mad, war was raged! Glad to know about possoms and no rabies!

We live in the boonies on 100 acres so nearest neighbor is 1/4 mile away

My MIL dingbat, lets the dern possoms come up on her back porch in town and eat the cat food she has 3 of them.....I am thinking some poisonings might need to happen there. ICK!

and rooster red, you are right about like riding a bike...it was not a problem at all, now DH has to worry cause I know how to shoot his gun...i think secretly that is why he did not want to show me LOL

DH does not know what kind of killing machine he let loose here! I have wanted to know how to use that danged gun for years and he just never got a round to showing me. I hate waiting on someone to do something I need done. Like shooting varmints! I don't mind them really just stay away from my barn!!!!

Rooster, I thougth of you this am when I thougth I was gonna have to use a baseball bat on the dern thing since Hubby was in the tub....I was thinking where is Rooster-red when I need him!
