A teenage boy was killed by a pellet gun a few years back. Pellet went into his heart.

Pellet guns have kill many animals, it is a gun, and should be treat like one.

The very last wild passager pigeon was kill by a boy with a pellet gun. This bird is here in a zoo.

Deb, I am sorry to hear about your cat. You got some helpful advice on how to protect your cats moving forward. It sounds like you know who did the act, so may I recommend contacting your local law enforcement to see if they were within their rights or if you have any course of action. Since laws vary based on location, that is your best bet. I hope your cat has a speedy recovery.
