5 dogs is a lot of dogs, no matter how you look at it. how close are the nerghbors? how well do you get along with them? any other issues with the county? the spirit of the law and the letter of the law are 2 different things, from the countys view and also yours

I have to check again but I think ours is $10 per altered dog and $15 per un-altered dog.
Variances? Ack. HERE in the ordinances it says to have more than the limit you have to get a variance. BUT they have never given the variance to ANYONE who has asked. Why even put it in the ordinances then???

Like others said, I would just keep the 5 and tell them you gave one away.

I just had a friend tell me they have never told the whole truth about how many animals they have on their 17 acre farm . . .and this is simply all about money. If they would have said $25, it would have been bad enough, but $250!!!! What city official needs a raise?

Also here you have to license outside cats but not inside ones? I wonder why the same doesnt go for dogs?
I am sure they have these ordinances for a reason but its frustrating at times.
