where in wisconsin? i'm in neenah, 30 min from greenbay. we can only have 3 dogs. i have one and don't lisence. what's the point. and i agree with the cat thing. if cats don't need a liscence, why should dogs? i see more loose cats than dogs.

I am so ignorant. I have never even heard of this. You have to have a license to own a pet? And you don't live in the city or in a subdivision that's enforcing these rules? Remind me not to ever move to Wisconsin. My property, my business, until it affects yours. It doesn't make sense to me that the people who are being responsible with their animals are the ones who have to pay the penalty for those who aren't.

Get a copy of the law and see if it is still in effect. We got a pit and then the city cop came by and told us we had to have a permit for a dangerous animal. He gave us a copy. When I seen it was dated from 05 to 07 I never registered her as a dangerous animal or herd from him again. I told him when they pass a new law and have it on paper let me know. That has been aboout 8 months ago.

This is all new to me too. In TN they don't give a crap how many of anything you have. Which is how we kept 13 coonhounds and 4 beagles and 3 great danes. If I had to pay to license them I would be broke. Especially since only 2 are spayed.

We pay $6 altered, $8 unaltered here. Some of my mine are illegal aliens. Not because of the money, but because it's none of their business how many dogs I have. The government doesn't crack down on illegal aliens, so that's how they've been living comfortably here for the past 12 years!

We shouldn't allow ourselves to be regulated/taxed into oblivion! It's getting where everyone feels like they have a duty to not mind their own business.
