I'm a single guy, and after reading all these posts perhaps I should advertise on a singles line that I have lots and lots of chicks...

Any help with IDing them would be helpful. The feathered feet ones do not have 5 toes.

My little favorite

Her down is much different than the others. It is longer and more silky like. She has some red bare patches under her wings that I need to watch but she is just the sweetest little thing, barely 2 inches by 2 inches!

After 21 years of marriage, he would know something is up if I did this

The first words out of his mouth would be "Ok, what did you do this time"

Hahaha I'm not so sure but one can dream

He is building me the coop of my dreams right now and he does tolerate them - though he wants to rename them all to food-like names, lol - so I feel pretty lucky. He always says "no more animals/chickens" but who listens to men anyway?

Yeah, you just want a woman meeting you naked at the door with a beer and pizza!

oops! Am I that obvious?

ZooMummzy... You got nice chicks.. The feathered chicks are not Brahmas... Perhaps Cochins? I've never had any of them. I don't recognise any of the others either. Sorry.

I didn't want my older girls to feel left out with the new ones in the house, lol so here are a few photos them. They are all 4-5 weeks old now - big girls

Norah and June - sold to me as Golden Laced Wyandottes...turned out to be Silver Laced. That's ok, they are pretty too

Bijou, an EE. She is all white except for her brown bib

Gabby, another EE and the only one that I still question the sex on.

Norah, Ruby, the other EE we have and Ava, our sweet little Barred Rock pullet perched on the side of the crate. She is perfect

at least the husbands know where you are at all times
chickens make nice addition to the acreage and then when they grow up what do you do with them
Do you all have ideas what breeds they are?
Is the thought of having "cute little chicks" all there is in your mind?
Do you have thoughts of your responsibility to the birds as they grow up?
I never hear any one stating their plans for where the chickens will be housed or taken care of/
Do you plan to hatch new ones every yr?
Some of the interesting facts of being a chicken owner
I hatched 3500 chicks a yr and only kept the brest 150 for breeding the next yrMy chicks were pure bred bantams but brought me much joy in the challenge of perfecting my chicks to the poultry Standard of {erfection
Their care was the most important thing all yr round.
Lots of work but well woth it.

Most husbands would prefer the chicks to you going out on your own and not being home when he got there

LOL my parents are the same way. If i get anymore animals i dont know what my mom will do. My dad doesnt really care anymore but my mom does. When she sees the little ones i just got at tractor supply i think she will be ok since they are cute lol

Hahaha yes us Moms are sucker for the little ones

I do have backup now though since my daughter is into chickens this year. Her Dad can say no to me, but never to her
