Black copper marans cockerel. Many marans have feathered legs.
His comb looks strangely pale, so you might want to make sure he's healthy before introducing him to other chickens.
it came from am auction a recently and I picked it up and brought it home today. I did notice the comb seemed odd. Its a very quiet and docile chick, does that indicate anything? I have given it electrolyte water and some mash.

Hi sassysarah and all the other chicken experts,

I'm new to this forum and already asking for your support!

I was wondering if you could shortly give me a hint about the gender of our little chickens! We've just become chicken parents ;) and super clueless about the sexes of our 3 little ones. Context of my question: We've started with 4 mixed chicken babies around 7 weeks ago - unfortunately our yellow Orpington died 2 weeks ago within 12 hours (even vet did not know the cause of surprising death) :( Although it seems to work well at the moment having just 3 chickens, it seems to be a more appropriate group dynamic having at least 4 chicks. So, we've just made an appointment with an Orpington breeder, scheduled this Sunday, to get 1-2 hens.

Now, we're a little afraid, we might have 3! One (grey, Araucana) has crowed a couple of times, so we're pretty sure it's male ;-) The white Leghorn seems to be a lady from our inexperienced point of view: Her appearance is so elegant in comparison to the others.
The black one is a Marans and the heaviest one. And leaves us clueless..

Can you please, please, please support us by telling, if Leghorn and Maran are boys or girls? We'd then know, how many hens we would need to add to our group on Sunday :bow
