I’m not experienced with silkies, so I couldn’t say for sure. However, if there’s crowing at a young age it’s probably a cockerel.Hey this morning one of my so called pullets crowed 3 times
could you tell me if she/he is a rooster or not? He/she is a bearded silkie. Here are some picsView attachment 2208037View attachment 2208038View attachment 2208039View attachment 2208040View attachment 2208041
That’s an ameraucana, not an Orpington. Cockerel.Chocolate orpington pullet. I think I see multiple rows on her comb. Still a pullet?
You have no obvious cockerels, yetWould you guess one hen one roo on these two?

Looking like a pullet so far
Your guesses appear to be correctUpdated pics of my 4, they're 6 weeks old, at that point, I think I can say I have that I have 2 pullets and 2 cockerels? Just want to confirm to make sure I'm not too quickly assuming their sex ^_^ Thank you a lot for your time.
Little facts, if helpful:
- Isbar 1 has large comb, very noisy and talkative.
- Isbar 2 is very silent, small comb, is the smallest.
- Ameraucana 1 is darker, fluffier, bigger (doesn't look much on photo, but is huge compared to the other ones) and has slightly redder comb. He does lot of noise when excited.
- Ameraucana 2 has light chest, pale comb, very silent.
Cockerel. Do you have pictures of the mutts?Bossy pullet? 14 weeks right now. She is from a batch of “assorted crested” and that’s throwing me. Also, I’m still green. We’ve ended up with some Polish, three that look Australorp, and a couple of speckled/crested mutts.
All look like pullets except the last one, which is probably a cockerelUpdated pictures of my chicks who are now 9ish weeks. Thoughts? First two are Polish and other two are Easter Eggers
