Hello. Last year I made my own incubator. When I tried incubating first round of eggs 9 of 30 were fertile but all except 1 died around day 10. This little guy hatched on day 23 but he died when he was 2 months old. Than I did some upgrades on temperature sensor and I tried again. 20 out of 20 eggs was fertile. Around day 10, 5 embryos died (this eggs were small around 40g, other eggs are 50-60g), so now I is day 22 and I can still see blood veins about 0,5-1cm around air bubble, humidity first 18 days was around 55% than I raised it to 70%, temperature was and still is probably a a little low around 36°C because I made a mistake when calibrating it. Yesterday I saw one chicken moving, I didnt move the egg. So what do you think where did I do mistakes and what should I do now? Thanks for help!

Some eggs have areas like circles up to 1,5cm radius which still have blood veins!!?

And what do you think about humidity? Should I set it to like 65% or something like that because they need longer to hatch and that enough water will evapourate from eggs?

Do you maybe know why 5 of 20 chickens would die around day 10? This 5 eggs were smaller than other 15.

55% Rh during incubation is to high, and 70% at lockdown is also too high.

During incubation the %Rh should be in the range of 35 to 40%. At lockdown should not go above 65% and would be best at 55 to 60%.

Your temperature is a little low also, should be around 37.6 to 37.8°C

The egg that you can still see the veins, is a 'dead egg'.
Too high humidity along with low temperature is most likely the cause of death to those eggs.

Oh, everywhere I found information about humidity it said that it should be around 50% and temperature around 37.3°C so I am happy you gave me information. I set temperature a little low because I probably "coocked" last round of eggs.

Today 1 chicken hatched and 2 are on their way, I hope there will be more of them! Thanks
