I can't believe some people...They make me laugh, in a sad kind of way

My partner has a great theory for dealing with this kind of person, which I've dubbed malevolent benevolence. Here's how it works, every time you see/hear about these people say something nice about them. When you see her on the road? Wave and grin like she's Santa. It's worked well in my adult life, if only because it's so unexpected. Sure, she'll still mutter darkly and be a pain in the ass but she'll know for dang sure she hasn't affected you in the slightest. Ignoring her doesn't have nearly as much impact as the Ned Flanders treatment. And it gives every one else the benefit of seeing you behave in a way the exposes her lies.

I thought about that...But I was way too tired, and was trying to pay attention more to where I was walking (in the ditch, because we live on a main highway)...But next time, THAT is exactly what I will do!!! I usually use the obnoxiously kind ways to overcome people being rude...Mainly because of how much it bothers them that I'm being nice when they think I shouldn't be

It's pretty sad that the almost 22 year old is more mature than the almost 40 year old

Good gravy, woman, you should be having a party. They're gone! I'd be waving as they went by, 'BUH BYE!!!!!'

The poor trainer they went to.....LOL. Though often people will badmouth their last stable, but realize that they went to far, and privately decide to change their ways.

That's why I always say, give 'em a chance at the new place. They may not want to admit it but they may realize they need to make some changes.

Not always, though.

The horse world is a weird place. There's a lot of gossip and badmouthing people. You'll get your share of that from this incident, make no mistake. But the only people listening will be the ones that are more new to the horse business - everyone else listens, nods and thinks, 'There's another side to this one'.
