I am the same. These babies don't look to be handled much. The run into a corner of the cage and act like I am going to eat them. I wasn't going to keep them in this cage long. But with how they are. I may and get them used to human interaction.

My 4 turkeys were the same way. They didn't get real friendly until they moved outdoors and figured out the big guy has yummy treats. Now they'll follow me everywhere.
 
Dried mealies. I get them at wallmart in the birdfeeder section. Its advertised for blue birds. The cheapest Ive found them. The chickens and the turkeys love them.
 
Went to give them fresh water. The smallest one was hissing at me and lowered it's wing! D:

I grabbed the little butthead and held her for a little bit. I offered a live cricket and they don't know what it is. But the other was calling for her and wasn't happy.

I just got 3 babies on Friday, was so worried I was going to lose them! So far so good though.

There was a cricket in the brooder when I was getting it ready for them, I left it there as food. The Narragansett saw it, walked up to it, grabbed it, watched it jump, then chased it, caught it, and swallowed it whole. No talking about it and looking at it funny like chickens do. The one seems to be so much bigger and "beefier" than the other two, if I'm lucky the black and the Royal Palm are both girls.

What a weird flock that would be.

I couldn't resist either... I went for baby chicks, 6 of them, for a broody hen I have. I came home with 12 birds. Twice as many as planned! The broody now has 5 chicks, and is quite pleased with herself. The rest are set up in brooders, the turkeys separate from the chickens to be sure they're eating right and since they're on a different feed to make sure they get that protein.

I bought the dried meal worms too, and am thinking about farming them live, it looks easy.

Well, my turkeys looked at the crickets weird. My D'Uccle chicks and Milly, my mille fleur, they get after the crickets. They have even started doing a no-no, biting me when I don't have treats.

I gave them food, because their bowl was empty. They know the feed bucket really well. lol
