Don't mean to butt in, but I have been reading this post. I recently had to kill my one Cornish X (a test case to see if we liked them) LOL! He was suddently attacked by my turkeys and pecked severely on the back of his head (he had a HOLE). I needed to butcher him ASAP to put him out of his misery. I followed the instructions by "frugal" on the Meat Chickens Sticky. It was not bad, I thought the cutting the neck artery would be hard, but I since I didn't have a killing cone I cut the bottom off a milk jug and hung it on the fence with zip-tyes and put him in it. It was much easier with him there quiet and upside down. Anyway, it is hard but as many have found, you can do it when you need to.
