I'm a new member joined yesterday & got great advice from helpfull ppl. But for some reason I got caught up and bought two breeds (leghorn & Brahama) when everyone was telling me to get Orpington. They seem to be gettn along just fine & the leghorn has lots of personality (my flock needed it). Am I gonna be ok??? Anything to worry about?

If they arnt fighting now I doubt they will start normally if they weren't going to get along they would of attacked each other right away, but I have to say that orpingtons make gorgeous pets I have a Orpington and they have the meekess and loveable nature of a kitten trust me they are gorgeous my one even sneaks into the house if we leave the door open  u should get an Orpington though they rock

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Good luck with your new chicks! Young and that close in age they should get along fine. Leghorns do have a lot of personality even if they are pretty reactive. They are good flyers when young so watch for escape attempts.

Yea the leghorn wasn't in there 5 mins & was looking for a way to get up onto the bottom of my roof. A little scuffling for food this morning but nothing aggressive.

Welcome to BYC

Glad you joined us! I used to keep a mixed flock of Silver, brown and white leghorns, RIR, Bluebells and Java x's together and they all got along just fine.
