I don’t know what else to do for my hen - had mites, dewormed, still sick

This discussion is senseless. It works for me and my chickens and it's what everyone here in Hawaii uses.
Crickets and mealworms don't have spiracles.

I discovered my hen 2 weeks ago by herself and found out she had mites. I tried getting g rid of with permethrin and had no luck so sprayed with spinosad and got rid of them successfully for almost a week now. She didn’t improve so it was suggested to deworm. I dewormed her for the 5 days with safeguard horse paste which he ingested, but she still hasn’t improved. Here’s her info
-4/5 year old buff Orpington hen (got her from a family member)
- not been laying since we got her that I know of
- now mite free
- now dewormed
- still lethargic, doesn’t walk normal (kind of penguin waddle but not egg bound from my checks)
- crop gets full-ish and is empty in morning but now not eating much food
- drinks Lots of water and sometimes water comes back up out mouth but no color or smell

I don’t know much about slow crop or crop issues other than she definitely doesn’t have an impacted crop because it is not hard. She can get around kind of, she particularly likes to lay on coops “porch” in the sun, but other than that she isn’t doing to well with walking normal. I just don’t know what could be wrong with her. I am thinking about starting a round of antibiotics but I don’t know if I should or if she is just getting old and dying of old age.
Any thoughts on what might be up with her would be appreciated!
My Buff Orpington Hens all died a year apart 2 were 4 years old and 4 were 5 years old so could be just old age. Sorry hope she pulls through:fl

How frustrating! I'm so sorry you both are going through this and I wish I knew what to do. Have you tried oregano oil in the water? This prevents worms and treats them. Is her belly swollen and tender?

I felt her underside again and did not notice anything other than how thin she is. I tried giving her food again tonight but she didn’t take any so that means pretty much a whole day with nothing but water which she enjoys

Her stance, she's not well.
Likely reproductive issues as mentioned in your other thread.

Drinking a lot of water usually indicates a crop issue, but that's often a symptom of an underlying condition. Her age, condition, not laying eggs for a long time, etc. I would take a guess she has a reproductive disorder. Cancer, peritonitis, etc. are common in laying hens.

Sometimes all you can do is hit the major spots - deworm, ensure lice/mites are gone and offer supportive care. If there's fluid in the abdomen, sometimes that can be drained to make them more comfortable for a short period of time.
You can try treating the crop issue, but it will not fix whatever else is going on with her.

I'm very sorry. I do treat my hens, but if they continue to decline or don't rally in a short while, then I put them out of their misery. If you happen to lose her, having a necropsy will shed light on what the problem was. Some folks do their own necropsy, if that's something you will be doing, then post some photos and we'll try to help you with what you found.
