I don't know what is wrong with my Rooster. Please Help.

Here are some pictures I just took. I've noticed that my rooster has had what appeared to be just some "dirty butt feathers" for a few days, but then when I took a closer look last night I noticed this bright red, enflamed area. I put a little Poultry Protector on him tonight, not knowing what to do yet.

Has anyone seen anything like this before? How should I treat him...maybe with Eprinex?

From the pic it looks like his skin is missing around the area. Is that the case or is it just reddened? If it is about to bleed I'd spray it with Blu Kote. If you don't have any I'd put antibiotic ointment without painkillers on it.

I'd separate him so the others don't peck at it, and IDK what else to tell you. Do you think another chicken caused it? Have you seen any bugs around his vent area? I'd be more inclined to think this was an injury but I can't see the pic very well. Mites can cause feather loss yes.

Sorry I have no other ideas. Hopefully someone else will be along.
