I dyed my eggs tonight! - UPDATED!! They're Hatching!! *GRAPHIC PIC*

It is one way you can dye the chicks inside the egg. Yes some hatcheries do it this way.. I think it's a cool expirement , when done safely and with respect with to the animal...

I always thought they were dyed after hatch but then I came here and learned that you can inject a small amount of dye into the fluid end of the egg, NOT THE CHICK, during incubation. I thought at first this was horrible but after much research and reading I have found that lots of people do this and it is of no harm to the little chick inside.

Gosh. Where did you find instructions? I would love to do this some time if only to impress the husband and grandkids.

But of course I would not want to hurt the babies.

I think its really neat but personally I would be a nervous wreck trying to do this and I would chicken out....no pun intended.

Time to update

So i checked all the eggs this morning. the chickens are still harder to see than the ducklings. but everyone i can see is still doing good and are very active. I noticed today that the dye had changed the color of some of the shells, mainly pink and green. I've never doen this before so i wasn't sure if it was normal but everyone does still seem to be doing alright so i dont think i will worry too much right now. So obviously the color is spreading out good

Here's a few pictures of the egg shells and some of the eggs on the candler, you can see the "speck babies" if you look close. I'm so glad theyre all doing good still. I have to admit, i was a little worried the night i dyed them...

I've got easter eggs and hopefully colorful chicks soon too..
