Hey all...
so I feel like the worst person in the world.
I didn't know it was a bad thing,so I tried to help out my rooster Peanut.
I put a pea sized drop of lotion on my hand and rubbed it on the lower edges of his waddles because they were dry and cracked.
Now they're infected.
And go figure,my hands got the same treatment!
My knuckles are split and hurt really bad,but I'm more worried about him
There's clearly pus in the blood vessels, that much is plain.
There's also bits of his waddles simply peeling off in a thin layer of nasty orange skin.
I don't know what to do,and I don't know if he's even in pain.
He doesn't show it if he is,but it can't be a pleasant feeling.
I have some vet gel I want to try,but I'm so afraid to just make it worse. :(
Peanut is my baby, and I never meant for this to happen.
Does anyone have any advice???
Thanks so much

Destroy the "lotion" you used so no one else uses it and consider contacting the manufacturer. I cannot recommend strongly enough that every household have on have at least 1 tin of Rawleighs medicated salve. It works on nearly everything and heals rapidly. For your roo, he needs the area washed gently with warm water and baby shampoo. Then coat his wattles in the antibiotic ointment of your choice. "Bag balm" works well and is easier to find. WalMart carries it. The salve is hard to find in stores but can be ordered online.
