Look at the saddle feathers. They're old enough that the pointy cascade is showing. The other is, I think, a moulting tail feather as most of the rest are growing in under it. That one's a pullet.
Are you sure? 🤔 I thought my hen CeeCee was a roo, but I kept her because I found out she was a hen ( with her first egg) far as I know, roosters don’t lay eggs! :idunno IMG_5359.jpeg

Only way I stay in contact with people I knew from the past, is well, I’m an investigator for the United States government. Law enforcement division USMS. And my non- retired colleagues

So sorry Marie. I know she was family to you. She was such a sweet hen. She was up there in age but you loved her obviously!
No words can describe the feeling of loss and possibly guilt you are feeling, I know you Marie. You probably think that you shouldn’t have left her there at the sanctuary, but as I consoled you before, you did right by Princess. Giving her other friends she could enjoy in her final days of life. You did right, so never forget that!
Sweetheart, anything less would be selfish of you. IMHO.
You could always come live with me. (Plenty of room and lots of other chickens to love) just saying.
Sorry to hog 🐷 this thread, but I do say some of what’s on my mind. If I stay silent, my mind will explode!

He looks BIG!!
What did you come home with?

I am not going to lie, he was a big boy, a big gorgeous hunk of a cockerel. He was this year’s chickie. The pullet also.

He was also very quiet and didn’t get upset or anything with all the people around.

Thank you so much 💓

She was born April 2018. I didn't have a day. I really thought she'd have survived longer where she was.

7 is a very good age for a battery hen. Your rescuing her gave her the best possible chance at that lovely life.

:hugs

Today is chook appreciation day at my ranch. I have Coco and Xzit in my bedroom. I have CeeCee in here also. I took every chook out of the coop, and hand delivered them into the house chickens. Room. It’s kind difficult to spread my love for each chook, when I have 19 of them, all waiting for affection from me. :th
