I found a baby bird

I'm so sorry you lost the little one, you fought so hard for and with him :hugs
I think in this short time span the food can't be the cause.
It is really difficult to raise those little ones.
Perhaps the chick got internal damage when falling from the lamp to the ground.
We will never know.
You did your best and you helped him and gave him a chance - it is not your fault the little one couldn't make it.
Even very experienced people often loose their little proteges.
Thank you for trying everything for this and the other little chick ❤️

Watery poop can be a sign of stress. And first poop in the morning can be a bit more watery than other poop.
It is very wel possible the chick had an internal injury or another trauma. Don’t blame yourself for loving and caring. :hugs :hugs
Thank you both, my dad told me the same thing, that it isn't my fault. Just my nature to blame myself. I'm going through mourning and it's difficult having got so close to bringing it to the sanctuary.

Well if I ever have to do this again I'm raiding the freezer thermometer. It appears to be the only one in the house that we know where it is! I simply have no perception of temperatures. Of course there's no way of knowing, perhaps it died from hearing the guy that pounded on our door this morning. Thank you all for your help and support, it means alot. We buried both the chicks in our yard.

It is just not possible to have always everything by hand, especially in an emergency :hugs
- you tried everything and did your best, and those two sweet little souls did have someone by their sides who cared for them and gave them a chance - this is what matters.
I know a lot of people who wouldn't have even tried to save them.
