I've been toying with the idea of getting a horse. Of course, the first thing I need is a place to put it. Today I went to see my future stable. It was beautiful. The stalls are 12' x 12' and padded. They open into a main corridor and into a couple of small paddocks. It's small but tidy and attractive. There's a nice break room with a bathroom, fridge, tv/vcr and heat and air. There are 4 pastures, some are very large. They have a hot/cold wash rack, an arena, some jumps and dressage letters, a round pen, woodland trails, good storage for tack, etc. Heck, they had everything. Full board with hay, feed, turnout service, mucking, watering, salt block, all the basics is only $300/mo. The owner is sweet as she can be and my instructor knows her other boarders. The cost of farrier and worming isn't included, but it still beats the other local barns. The best part is that it's no more than five minutes from my house. No wait... better than that is that they're all going to help me find a horse now!
