I got a new LG and I HATE it!!!

I am Day 19 with my LG. Incubating has NOT been a lovely experience so far. I am pretty sure that I fried me some eggs last week, due to a temp spike. I have very, very little hope that anything will hatch. I am usually a very upbeat, "can-do" person. I tried my hardest...

Sorry everyone: This is just not a great time for me. Incubating these eggs was my idea of a way to get my DD fired up about science and math. She is as bummed out as I am.
IF, by some miracle, I get one little sweet baby out of all this work, I promise to post a bazillion pix and apologize for all my LG bashing & all the cursing I have done in the privacy of my basement. Til then, I am with the1much: They suk!

I'm mad at my LG's as well. I've had alot of temp fluctuations that have scared the poop out of me. I still see 'em developing so we'll see. So far with my LG experience I go into every hatch thinking I won't get any. So far that hasn't been true, but today is day 18 for 25 eggs...
I'm saving up for a fancy Hova...or it'd be a nice christmas gift

I have two LG's and one Hovabator - all still air and they both have their pros and cons. I prefer the LG and have had much better hatches in them but I like the Hovabator because it's taller.

I've found to increase the temp on the LG, wait til the light goes off and turn it a hair until the light goes on. Same with decreasing - when the light is on, turn it slightly until it goes off. Wait about 1/2 hour or more and try again until you get to the right temp.

I do the same with the Hovabator only it has to be turned alot farther til it clicks. Two different machines, same basic principals.

And to the1much - I enjoy your posts. We don't need rude and nasty here. If I wanted that, I'd call my sister

Hi! To bring this back to something semi-reasonable:

"my second hatch , we didnt touch but once to candle,, out of 46 we had 6 hatch,, the temp stayed right the whole time after we got it set,, and theres a difference between impatience, and worried, and i guess noone should turn their eggs by hand either? oh ya,, if a egg dies and explodes because you only candled once,, would that be the fault of the impatience?
and anyone has a right to do whatever they want with their eggs,,, dont know if you mean it to sound like your giving advice,,,, but it doesnt.
sounds like a teacher or peta employee."

THAT didn't make make sense to me. Then the reference to a teacher or PETA employee at the end lost me. I didn't understand the point and still don't.

Sorry it got twisted. If you can explain the above quote, *I'd* appreciate it.
I didn't mean at all to be rude, but your 'style of writing' (lack of appropriate caps and punctuation) made your point difficult for me to understand.

Thanks 'whoever', GRAMMAR --- I'll always remember your reminder.
