Cute chicks! Now I hope you cull lots of them, and I mean lots - Until you get the proper La Fleche. It is possible that since this is a very low demand and rare breed that it has not been ruined or crossbred, but who knows. . . I'm up for seeing someone preserve the real thing.
( Although I have to admit, APA standards call for a "medium" comb on the rooster, and I'd love to see a huge set of horns!

I am very happy with my La Fleche as all of them have the wide, cavernous nostrils and no single combs. As for the comb the 1989 edition of The American Standard of Perfection calls for the male to have a rather large comb and the female to have a moderately large comb. The latest APA edition should be out soon and I plan to get one. If the comb size has not changed the large comb is what I will breed for.
