I Got My First Egg!!!!!

I have 15 light brahma hens that are 24 wks old and yesterday (Sept. 24,2010) one of them laid the first egg!! I was so proud that I went right out and took a picture of it.

Today I got another egg..that makes 2 eggs so far..enough for me to scramble up for breakfast tomorrow.

I can't wait to start getting more eggs from my girls!

How wonderful. And light brahmas are so pretty. We had one when I was young and we called her "Granny". She was the best broody.

She covered and hatched 30 eggs once! We couldn't believe it. Way better than an incubator (she covered 32 and 2 didn't hatch... were dead in the shell)

Congrats!!! I have had my girls for over a year and I still get so eggcited when I find eggs!!! (19 today so far!)

Congrats! Isn't it eh greatest thing ever!
We saved our one egg a day for the past 4. I got the first one, and the hubs and our young houseguest shared the other 3.

Awesome. When I got our first egg I was so happy. Friends were like it is just an egg. To me it was like waiting for christmas. I still get excited everyday when I collect the eggs. We are getting 5 to 7 eggs a day right now.
