Well, that makes it more interesting doesn't it? The limestone would generally be used over 50 years ago, many of the older markers in our area are either limestone or marble. I would think the only way she might have used the Our on a pet headstone would be if she considered herself along with other pets as a family, could be possible.
One thing you could do is ask if there are any family or historical cemeteries noted for your property or close to your property. Otherwise it was removed from another location or given to her and had never been a headstone but a display item.
I think it's interesting and not bad ju ju at all, just an opportunity to find out a bit of a mystery

there is a cemetary down the road maybe 1/2 mile not sure how far it dates back.

Just looked at your posted pics and that looks like marble to me. The script does look old what is the script in the lower corner? Also is there any thing on the sides of the head stone?

hoosier and hooligan

i guess it says J Brenner or Brenne Youngstown on the bottom corner , nothing on the sides, back or bottom besides the marks from cutting the stone and cracks.
On top of it is a slit, about 3/8 inch wide 2-3 in long and 1/2 to 1 in deep. I guess at one point when it stood where it belongs there was a statue on it.

It looks like limestone or maybe bluestone. Very cool! Good luck rehoming it!

You know folks and i told my husband that we should ask the previous owner of the house if somebody died in it. but we never did , who would have thought of a stone in the garage. I really watched Poltergeist and Pet Cemetary too many times..
but who ever it belonged to can rest assured that it will be put in a place it deserves to be. I am kind of sad right now that somewhere is a grave that doesnt have a marker.

It looks like a marker that was probably broken and replaced. The newer one is probably on the grave and that piece was brought home and used for a door stop. It doesn't appear to be complete, no names or dates on it.

It's so pretty. You are so lucky to have wonderful neighbors like you do. Anything spooky ever go on in your parts? beautiful pics.

Nothing spooky at all---our house is 300 yrs old an NOTHING!

Have you googled that name??? Or take that to the library or historical....I would bet is is from down the road and inccocently migrated to your property. We end up with gravestones in our stone walls around our property, we put them back, but it happens...

Good point writer.....no dates
