I have a fear of sudden attacks from anything. I'm sure it's childhood trauma from getting zapped by electric fences, or kicked by cows. :oops:. I either wear gloves, or put my feed can over chickens head to frisk under them. :)

Yes, it can be very difficult to stay calm and not react with fear when something tries to bite you, then they react to your fear by biting gain....
....it's like yelling with a shock collar on.

Was just thinking about wearing gloves I usually pull my sleeve all the way over my hand as I go in but today my sleeves don’t reach also I spotted a very small mouse I’m Thinking it was a field mouse it was cute but it doesn’t belong with chickens and it’s hiding in an awkward place so I’ve left it for now it’s only after left over corn the chicks are bigger than it poor thing

My bluebell hen (thunder) will come close to me and slap me with her wing and as I jump she slaps me again and runs off ! What’s that all about?
