Actually, there is strong statistical evidence that supports making those kind of "judgement calls". While many surveys on the subject are biased by who did them (i.e. they started out with an answer and than set out to validate it.), and others are worthless since they ask for opinions, not facts, I have gleaned the following information:As a note, some people get tattoos *because* some will form an instant opinion about them. It really helps weed out the shallow/judgemental people in daily interactions.

- The less formal education you have the more likely you are to be tattooed.
- People who have tattoos are likely to have used recreational drugs at some time.
- If you have "body art" it is highly probable that you have been jailed for a serious crime.
- Liberals are slightly more likely to get tattooed than conservatives.
- Tattoos are most common in the southeastern United States.
If you have tattoos and don't fit this profile, so what? There's an old saying, "If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it's more than likely a duck." If you don't want to be thought of as a duck, don't quack!![]()
One more note on the subject of being "different" and "expressing yourself" and I'll shut up. Back in 1979, when I made the decision to grow my hair and beard I did so with the sure and certain understanding that there was a price to be paid for being different. The majority of the flock doesn't approve of different. It prefers conformity. I knew that many people would make derogatory comments and jobs would become harder to get. I accepted that as the price I would have to pay.
Yes, you have the right to be yourself and be different, to stand out from the flock. That does not mean that the flock has to accept you. Some will just tolerate you, some will ignore you and others will be downright mean and nasty, and a few will accept you for what you are. That's the price you have to be willing to pay. Human nature is what it is. Your wishes and desires will not change that. It will do no good to complain about the unfairness of it all!
I know that this is not considered PC, but that is the nature of the beast. A natural instinct that has been developed to insure survival of the species over 150 million years of evolution. You can't change that by simply passing a law.

Which Darwin said that?Darwin sez:
All it takes is one female (or male) to be attracted to your tatts, in order for your genes to be replicated and passed on -- though the more mates, the better the genetic viability, but one fecund female per tattooed male will work just fine. The rest of society's acceptance is not necessary.![]()
