My other two kids and I have very strong, healthy teeth. Those two are awful. I always joke that there really isn't anything real left in my husband's mouth......honestly, most are crowns. Poor thing...but at least they LOOK real and he can't take them out!!!!!!!

My 8 y/o is starting to get VERY tired of the dentist. he has several crowns and fillings and we know every visit will be a new one. He was actually born with his first tooth (no, it wasn't one of those "milk teeth" it was a real baby tooth complete with roots). They pulled it out (it was cutting into his tongue so he couldn't nurse) and within a few days it had crumbled to almost nothing.

Oh, and I can't use laughing gas. It makes me terrified and paranoid. The only time I had it I bit the dentist, spit on him, knocked over the equipment and started screaming they were trying to kill me.....I was 12. It is now in my charts that I can't have it.

Believe it or not, I've heard that, but I'm not certain it's true. My wife doesn't usually need much nor my daughter.

Are you in Logan?

Dr. Boston is a great dentist there... also Dr. Larson is a great endodontist there.

(When my mom can't come to Phoenix, that's where she goes... but in two weeks she's coming here to have some crowns done.)

OW! I think I'da been punchin me a dentist!

I think I should have been told to go to a dental surgeon. But i was young and did not realize that then! The dentist did fine with the two he could pull. I just needed the others cut out to avoid all the discomfort, pain and blood. I ended up getting sick later because of the blood. That was no fun! Thank God I never got a dry socket! I followed all of his intstructions to the T and avoided that!

Last dentist I went to was a military dentist.... From what I gathered while I was in the Navy, military doctors like to experiment. Either that or they just don't know what they're doing.

I had to have some teeth pulled while I was in bootcamp. It was two wisdom teeth that needed pulling. The doctor must have been enrolled in the special classes in school. He kept the suction tube right in my throat and got ticked off cuz I kept gagging. Then he had the nerve to ask me why I kept doing that.... One more person on my list... If I could find these people now that I'm a civilian....

When I was stationed in VA, another dentist did a filling for me. He did such a great job at shaping it, that my tooth broke when the giant gap filled up with beef jerky and I bit down on it. I may as well not even have a tooth there now. 95% of what you can see of the tooth is all filling. Even the sides.

I'm just a big teddy bear. Ask any of my patients.

As much as you have posted since just 5/08 I figured you had a job out of your home or a desk job! How do you post so much

mom'sfolly :

I'm not overly fond of dentists either. Hey Mahonri, how do you dental folk ever get married?

I met my future wife on December 14th, 1986. She was in a "Sunday School" class that my sister taught. I had come home for Christmas my senior year of dental school after finals.
I've always been fond of redheads, but her teeth were SO GORGEOUS!

I asked her out for the following evening... she was a school teacher then and her kids had a Christmas play so we went to that and then I took her to eat at Mary Calenders after.
We saw each other almost every day after that. (Until I had to head back east to finish up school) On the evening of the 24th, I asked her to marry me. She said yes and we were married the next June. We burned up the phone lines for 6 months.... I came home for spring break, she came out in February and April to stay for a few days. I got home in May after finishing all of my requirements.

She is the best thing that ever happened to me. And here we are 7 kids later... ages 20 through 6. Six boys and a little red headed girl as the caboose.

I know a good thing when I see it....
