i had my chicken for a month and a few weeks and no eggs!

That comb is still too pink in the second pic, it will get DARK RED , do you know how old she was when you got her in January? I think she's still too young, probably another month or two before she's laying.

It can take them some time to start laying, where do you keep her?

Does she have a nest box?

Could she be laying somewhere and you don't know?

I found with mine that just before they started to lay their combs and wattles turned bright red, and they started to crouch down ifI went near them, I found out from reading here that they are getting ready for a cockrel when they do this but it is alsoa key indicator of imminent eggs arriving.

If they have been moved or their routine changed in any way it can put them off for several weeks.

Don't worry she will start soon.

Good Luck.

ok i got new picks

and she is smaller that daisy

Where doe she live?

Where does she sleep?
.

Once she is ready to lay eggs then she will find somewhere she feels safe and she will lay them.

if you have a coup then she will USUALLY (I say that because unless she has somewhere designated then she may prefer somewhere else) lay in an area there where she feels safe.

You need to tell us where she lives.

How did you deal with them when you got them?

The best thing to do when you first have chickens is to put them in the coup and leave them there for a few days so they know that is where to sleep and be safe and lay their eggs.... then you let them out.

then their routine is established. They will know exactly what to do then. But they have to have somewhere they feel safe to lay their eggs.

There are lots of threads here about how to prepare for chickens and how to house them properly, and to set nest boxes or to find them somewhere they willaccept to lay.

have a read through the posts.

If you have any further questions then ask. lots of people here will help you out.

How does she behave when you go near her. If she sits down and fluffs out her wings a bit, looking like she is afraid then egg laying is close.

usually to encourage her you should have somewhere safe for her to go, and this could be a simple box where she can feel ok and people put in a toy egg. Or a golf ball or something to show her.

She is a baby and she will have instincts but in a large flock they work it out learning from each other.

It is all a learning curve really. My girls were young when I had them and Iwaited many weeks for them to begin, and at first even though we built them a nest box they would not go in there, they used to lay on top of it, so I gave them cat litter trays up there to keep them safe with some wood shavings and paper in there and they all lay in one tray now.... so their eggs are safe and for them it is in a dark and safe place.

She will be fine soon really.

Her comb looks nice and large, but sometimes it is few weeks after that that she will begin, most importantis she must feel safe.

Mine were POL in September, but they started laying in November.

lol.... I was waiting and waiting and then when they started I was so afraid for them really... it is like your little girl is growing up. But they are all fine and I get 4 eggs a day from 4 girls.

Enjoy getting to know her and learning abouthow to care for her properly. She will reward you soon.

Good Luck,

Jena.

With the weather warming up and the days getting longer you should be getting eggs soon they need @14 hrs. of light to lay and keep a close eye on her- chickens can be very crafty when it comes to hiding eggs, especially if they free range. Good luck!

I agree with the other posts. From the pictures, her comb and wattles aren't very red. She may be younger than you think. Is she squatting? Her comb and wattles should be bright red. Here are pictures of my pullets at 21 weeks. Some aren't laying. Most of my hens and pullets that are laying, started laying between 20 and 24 weeks (5 - 6 months). I got a fart egg yesterday from one.
