I hate chickens!!!

Actually... I was one of those people before April. I was terrified of chickens. I had a rooster attack me when I was little, and it left scars still visible today. Ever since then, I have just been absolutely terrified of anything with feathers, especially chickens, I would avoid live ones at all costs.

But this past March, my neighbor's chicken (actually his wife's) got loose from the coop, and my yorkie-poo saw her and started chasing her. She ran under our shed building, and wouldn't come out. I spent the night and day trying to get her out, cause as much as I didn't like chickens, I didn't want my animals to hurt her. So I raked all the leaves out, and eventully flushed her out, I tried to shoo her home, but she just wouldn't go. So I ended up picking her up (OMG you should have seen me

hoping she wouldn't start pecking me, looking back on it I get a big

So I started carrying her home, and she decided she wanted to perch on my arm, so me being scared almost crapless I let her do as she pleased. I knocked on the neighbor's door, he didn't answer, then I guess he saw me put her in the coop. He said he really appreciated what I did (he knew I was terrified of them too, him and his family tried to get me to pet one of their BR's one day, and I ran screaming, or would walk a mile away from their birds

So I felt really accomplished, like I had conquered a life long fear, the next week, I bought me some BR, GSL, and BSL bitty gals.
I only have 3 of my original 10, but I love em

I can't be scared of them, I raised them from bitties, thats all I can see when I look at them. guess its the same as a big boxer dog, all the owner can see is that tiny pup they brought home, the rest of the world sees a really big dog that can hurt them.

that hen would be sore for weeks. lol people who dont associate with chickens just dont know i guess. its something funny for us chicken lovers to laugh at.

I'm afraid of geese and Sandhill Cranes. They are like velociraptors or mini allosaurus. I watched my cousin get attacked by a couple of peacocks when we were about 9 yrs. old. It is funny now but they beat the snot out him. He should not have thrown rocks at them so he deserved it.

A friend of ours said he hated chickens because he was attacked by a rooster when he was little... we invited him over to take a look at our chickens and has sense been converted and is now a proud chicken owner himself!

My responce when someone says that chickens are stupid is that they are MUCH easier to train then any dog, and are used to train dog trainers because of it.
