I HATE fleas!!!

Be carefull with garlic and dogs. Garlic is one of the food no no's for dogs.

When we lived in some apartments they were riddled with fleas "outside" so we brought them inside when we took our dogs potty. The only thing that worked for us was advatage flea stuff. It seems frontline isn't always the best for each dog. Don't know why. There are also these pills that you give your dog. Just one and it kills the fleas for 24 hours. That helps to start with then put the topical frontline or advantage on . it gives it a head start. But one poster said to treat your yard....I seriously second that suggestion. Good Luck

Just in case you ordered from Noahpets or another of the people that ship from China or overseas, I just wanted to mention that my dog was having seizures from the Frontline I ordered off ebay from them. There is something different about it and I don't want to misquote the ingredients, but I just wanted to let you know what happened to us. It doesn't mean that it will happen to you, but if it does, you will know why. We buy the American version now and the seizures stopped.

thank you .....yes, I knew of this and I only order the american kind that is the same one the vet sells. I was very careful about ordering "the real" stuff

Thank you all for posting. At least I know it's not just me...
Problem is, in SC it rarely gets cold enough for an extended period of time to actually kill them off.
Oh well, if anyone finds the magic cure, let me know.

Ok here is what I do. Haven't had fleas in years.

My dog gets garlic in her food every day. I know people say it's an no-no but none of my dogs (all different breeds) have every had a problem. (My Aussie also eat wild garlic in the yard)

I also add 1 match head to her food. I was told to do this by some old guy that lived next door who had raised many a hunting dog with no fleas or ticks. (put a match head in with your pepper plants when you plant them. You get bigger healthier plants!)

Now that I know about DE, I dust everybody and everything with it once a month just to make sure.
