Yep! These things can crawl into tiny spaces like a ferret or mink. Last week they ate my goldfish out of the pond. I guess this is what happens when you live next to people who throw there food out for the bears?

I'm sorry it got your babies. I don't think the plastic totes will stop a rodent, they will chew through anything. Short of buying a metal container to hold chicks in, I'd say rat traps are your best option.

We had rats and mice in a two bedroom apartment with 5 kids. I poisened, trapped or drowned everyone I could. People thought I was nuts when I'd jump for joy after finding another dead one. I wasn't going to have a rat bite my human babies either. I had to declare all out war for about a month. Didn't get much sleep, would stay up watching the little ones sleep and seeing how many I could catch and kill. Wish I had replacements for your baby chickie.

This is the Year of the Rat in Chinese Astrology and I think they are having a booming year of Rat business. You will really have to out
think the little rodents to fully get rid of them.

LMAO seminolewind, about the sleeping in my car thingy. A friend of mine had rats get under the hood of her new car and ate some hoses or something which was made from soy products, I will have to ask her again and repost, I know this sounds wierd because I don't have all the facts but when I read about you sleeping in the car I thought of her and her brand new vehicle. I wonder how long it would take them to get through the firewall if they will eat through cement walls? Hopefully longer than 8 hours but I suppose you would hear them coming what with all that knawing on metal.
