The hen is a pure d'uccle, the rooster is a mix. D'uccles should be mottled.

Not true. There are solid colored d'Uccles.

Fwiw, I breed Mille Fleur d'Uccles for exhibition. Mine hatch out varying shades of brown and can be sexed extremely young with surprising accuracy. Currently I have 14 d'Uccle chicks.

6 sexed Mille Fleur - 2M 4F
2 straight run MF
