It's day 21 ... It's time!
I have 7 Wheaton Marans test eggs from Berkley_Springs, and 10 Silkied Ameraucanas from Jubaby. These are very special eggs!

Just got the first pip ... one of the Marans eggs. I hear chirping in there!
I am so excited ... gonna be a long night!

It's been a long night! The hatch is nearly over.

Good news and bad news ...

None of the Silkied Ameraucanas made it.

2 were fully developed but never pipped, and most of the others were early quitters.

The GOOD news is ... 6 out of 7 of the Wheaton Marans hatched.

Well, 3 are still finishing up their zipping.

Will get pictures when they fluff up!

On to the next hatch ....
BBS Orps and Turkens due tomorrow ....

I've been waiting to see what the Silkied Ameraucanas looked like.

At least your Wheaten Marans hatched so be sure to post pics when you can. I have 3 Wheaten Marans - they are the flightiest of all my birds. I'm not sure if this is normal for them or if its because they were broody hatched.

Anyway, they are very pretty birds.
