I have a serious question about agression in drakes

No no no no no no I would never free him at a pond, it would be certain death! He does have a little run I put him in at night time so he stays safe. He is not in the house 24/7 either. He only comes in for around two hours a day. Usually he just jumps on my bed and sits next to me and he's out like a light. He does have a sweeter side. The agressive one seems to pop out quite a bit though. He seems to calm down once he's inside. (Except for you know, my dog. But any time he sees my dog he attacks her) He always sits by my backdoor waiting to be let in. Won't go in the yard or anything, it's rare to see him exploring the yard. He's been doing that since he moved out there. soon as you open the door there he is, waggin his tail and hissing and getting all kinds of excited.

Is that really the only option? I wanted to raise another duck the way I raised him which will take a lot of time and effort. That way she will be sweet and very friendly with people the way he is.

But, will he still be agressive, even with a mate?

muscovy males...any male duck are rough, but the hens are built to with stand it.

my boy Squeaks and his girl Rosilee are inseparable

Its not his fault..you see you got him at a very young age. So he thinks you are a duck OR he is a human..

and he wants to mate..and ..well..hes getting grumpy! If you find him a friend..it will get better..somewhat. But still..hes very attached to you so...
Poor duckie! Hes just species confused because he didnt have a sibling to grow up with..

I like him species confused, I just don't want him to distance himself from me. I think I may get another duck though. Do you think he will care if its not the same species?

I guess I'm gunna get an adult one though, so it won't be the way he is, people friendly. I can't raise another duckling UNLESS I know what sex it is for sure.
