What do you guys think about:

and a Coturnix hen?

It'll be a couple of weeks until I can get them 'mated' as I'll have to separate out a hen from my coturnix (the little guys sure do love their ladies!) and she's laying non-fertilized eggs again.

So? Should I do it?

Thanks for posting these pics. I scoured the internet searching for info on chicken/quail hybrids. I even thought that they might be able to breed naturally with bantams which led me to seramas which led me to the fact that they are expensive and hard to get haha.

But I thought it would be a really novel thing if you could have chicken sized eggs with quail egg coloration. That was really my only reason for the interest in the hybrids. If you could get one chicken to carry that gene pass it on to some more chickens and bob's your uncle new colored eggs for everyone!

too bad they are sterile. But it's actually good they are sterile. That way no one can breed them past the first point and start confusing people what they really are. Those eggs would be neat though!
