you dont have to have the answer but even just saying sorry wish I could help would bump them back so that maybe someone else who does have the answer will notice it and respond.
Writerofwords yes being nice is of the utmost importance. Many people only know what a neighbor told them, to most chickens are just livestock, and mis information is rampant.
If someone takes the time to join then they are open to info no matter what they may be doing or how they raise their chickens presently.
For instance if a person came on and said
"help my chickens are sick and dying. I feed them corn and let them live in the barn rafters whats wrong oh and some just disappear or are killed...? "
we cant answer with something nasty, rather we can explain what to feed them and the importance of a secure coop ect... if the person asked they are probably open to change and learning but if people jump down their throats and call them cruel or something like that they will just leave the forum and continue on their way.
Same thing when a newbies first post is a medical question and it gets unanswered most do not know about the search feature at the beginning and often responses are just telling them to "go do a search"
anyway thought it would help a little if less posts got lost since there is no real way to regulate how people respond or how nice they are but at least if everyone gets a response we have done something
