I have coop envy...

Ever craigslist community has a different personality. Where we came from, people got rid of nice washing machines and dryers ALL the time for around $150 a set..here, even though people get paid less, people are on crack sometimes wanting $200 for a $250 new machine. We have been watching BBQs and cannot believe the dead brain cells..my goodness dude, that bbq is $125 at Walmart, why do you think you can get $150 all covered in rust?

I too am watching for kennels and such..I am very thankful this guy contacted me..we will see what we get..I am paying for his gas to come 40 miles to me and back..figured $25 ..but 3 sheets of plywood would be that..so why not. A lot of people really do not understand just how bad the economy really is..people are wanting tons more for their stuff and buying nothing...we know..we sell antiques!

Why in heavens name would they flag you for that?!

We have "flag happy" people on our CL ~ if you post any "wanted" ad in Farm/Garden they flag it as posted in the wrong section because it isn't posted in the "Items Wanted" section. Who looks at the "Items Wanted" section regularly anyway?

I used old pallets, shower doors, old plywood, even the nails from the pallets to make my coop. The nest boxes are made from left over plywood and an old wooden toy box. The paint for the trim was in mark down someone didn't like the color it came with a $5.00 off coupon I paid $5.00 got refund for $5.00 so free. It will amaze you what you might find look at places that are being remolded they put stuff on the curb. here is a link to my pallet coop.

Craigslist is where I found a dog house I'm working on converting to a coop. It's an A frame so shouldn't be to bad to do. I kept stalking CL for dog houses, chicken coops, and storage sheds till I found likely candidates. oh, another catagory to check is play houses

I've found if you post late late at night the usually ends up staying longer than it would otherwise

Don't forget your local habitat for humanity for the hardware, etc. I got a lot of stuff from mine that I couldn't get off of CL!

My inlaws went to ours just last week and they left horrified. They said the prices were absolutely insane...again..depends on the community. I hear phoenix has a good one and Phoenix tends to be quite conservative..Tucson, liberals are very active, and the stores that "promote" "green" tend to be higher in price than buying new.

Don't hate me for stating what we have found..we have been selling antiques for over 10 years and we have found this price scale pattern in many areas..don't know why.
