I have hatched a three legged chick

The kids are coming home this weekend---to see the chick so I'm guessing for now he stays.... Hope it is a she stays. But I appreciate the interest and if I can't figure out a way to keep her happy and safe without keeping her confined, I will have to find her a good home. I don't take loses good at all and while we don't have many and have solved alot of our problems, I still get a surprise every now and then.

Just had to change my avatar to show Tri!! He is doing great and growing!! 5 days old now

Seems to have a little movement but I'm not sure that it is on purpose. It appears to be fused to his spine and moves a little when he walks.

He really appears to be normal except for the extra leg. I think he is a Rhode Island Red/Americana cross. He looks americana in the body and his legs have a green tint but to me his cheeks should be fatter and his red color reminds me of RI chick coloring, I'm just guessing since I have Roos and Hens of both and had them all together (it was really cold) when this egg was laid.

I know this is crass ... but he just made me think of my dad & how my dad was always yelling at my brother and elling him that if he didn't straighten out, he was gonna stick his foot in his arse.

Does this chick know my dad? I hope he didn't tick him off.....

Funny that's what I was thinking, Looks cool though. I would keep the little buggar just for the novelty and see how he does.
